The Irish Center of Washington, DC is a "Home Place"
for our Irish community serving as a resource center for immigrant related
issues, and providing information on all Irish organizations and activities
in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The Center's
"Seanachie" scholarship project, a yearly essay competition, provides
financial support to our local youth to aid in their participation in Irish
Cultural programs in music, dance, literature and sports. In our
community outreach program, people are invited to share their Irish Heritage
by participating in educational workshops and social activities.

Some of our financial support comes in the form of grants from corporations and foundations. We are also supported by the Irish Government. However, over 70% of our financial support comes from generous donors, and our community based fund raising events. Volunteers are needed to help develop our programs.
